Even mixing in a couple gallons of RV antifreeze doesn't keep the valves and exposed pipes from freezing (RV antifreeze even crystallizes at these temps, I've found), so I'm thinking of adding rubbing alcohol into the waste tanks to keep them from freezing over, and hopefully the valves as well.

A 50% solution with water protects down to -25 o F. 100 proof Vodka will protect down to the same temperature. Isopropyl Alcohol (Isopropanol, 2-Propanol, rubbing alcohol, etc,) 100% will protect down to -128 o F. A 50% with water will protect down to -5 o F. A popular concentration of 70% will protect down to -20 o F. 90% will protect down to -70 o F.

Note that unlike pure water, solutions do not freeze at a given temperature but gradually over a range. At the top of the range crystals appear and constinue to form as temperature decreases until you have a solid. Between the two you have a slush of solid crystals and liquid. Only if the solution is eutectic will it freeze at one single temperature.
