Denatured alcohol came in at $.19 and Everclear at $1.15 to bring the same 2 cups of water to a boil. SafeHeat was only successful in achieving a boil when the lid was added to the pot. We are unable to include it in the results because the parameters of the experiment had to be changed to successfully reach a boil.

Inhaling the vapours from medical grade ethyl alcohol is strong but pleasant like sniffing pure grain alcohol similar to the unflavored Everclear brand sold in liquor stores. That being said, if the alcohol which has been denatured that you are considering using is ethyl alcohol (pure ethanol), it would be fine.
