To chug a beer, relax your throat and hold your breath while you tip the beer back and let it flow down your throat. Don't swallow like you would if you were drinking a beer normally, since it will make chugging it harder. Instead, open your throat so the beer flows directly from your mouth to your stomach.

I tried a vodka and coke since I figured it'd be easier to drink a small vodka and coke rather than a large drink (since I hate the chemical strong taste of alcohol). Even that made me want to sort of gag after swallowing it, and I had to spend the next 10 seconds after a mouthful trying to keep it down.

Consume food and drink slowly. One of the most effective ways to keep yourself from swallowing air is to eat your food and drink beverages slowly. Try to take 3 to 5 seconds with each bite and space out your sips. Relax while you are eating, as stress can cause you to eat food too quickly.
