I’ve done a few Whole30’s, and have decided that alcohol generally doesn’t have a place in my Whole9 life. It doesn’t make me feel good, and I’m trying to reduce stress, so it’s just easier (and better) for me to abstain. When I was on my Whole30, it gave me an easy excuse not to drink—“No, I can’t, I’m on the Whole30.”

It's likely you wouldn't find many stories of someone doing Whole30 with alcohol and then reporting their experience on a Whole30 platform because we keep the topics around the successes of Whole30 on topic to those who have completed them within the rules. You do raise a good point tho, for yourself, you're never going to know what the difference is between doing it with alcohol and doing it without until you do both - we have no way of knowing how much or little alcohol affects your system ...

Now, I’d encourage you to do a Whole30 first, and follow our alcohol reintroduction protocol outlined in The Whole30. After that, you’ll be able to make an educated decision about what is and is not worth it for you. (Maybe you discover that gluten beer makes you feel so awful, it’s never worth it. If that’s your realization, even Rob would tell you to say bye, Felicia to your beloved Old Brown Dog.)

That's not to say I have not or do not on occasion drink the stuff but even before Whole30 and Paleo came into my life, my alcohol intake was maybe once or twice a year.. tops. I have a bottle of vodka that's been in my freezer for over three years and I've had maybe two drinks out of it. Sorry, I just don't get it.

Posted April 23, 2013. The SCD diet includes foods similar to a Paleo/whole9 diet and in it, occasional alcohol is allowed when you are no longer experience symptoms. Those allowed are dry wine (less sugar), gin, scotch and vodka (probably the cleanest liquor). Never beer, sweet wines and brandy.

On the Whole30, Can I Have… Almond Flour: Yes. Yes, you can have almond flour, coconut flour, tapioca flour, cassava flour and other non-grain-based flours, but it’s context-dependent. You can use it in place of breadcrumbs in your meatballs, to dredge a piece of chicken, or to thicken a sauce or stew.

And that means no, you can't have it for now. During my w30 my good friend and advisor DebC^ see above^ recommended a couple of drink ideas that felt adult without the noncompliance, like sparkling water with some olives (a dirty 30), or chilled herbal tea in a wine glass.

During Whole30, you don’t drink any alcohol. I wanted that strictness to help me stop drinking for 30 days. I felt like I was craving sugar too much. While my overall sugar consumption wasn’t that bad, the cravings for sweet foods concerned me.
