Buying alcohol with a vertical license? General… I just turned 21 today and of course, I headed out to buy myself some alcohol. The cashier who rang me up told me that Arizona doesn’t accept vertical licenses when buying alcohol. I’m just curious why this is a thing?

Some states, and some establishments, do not allow anyone with a vertical license or ID to purchase alcohol- regardless of age. I'm over 21, but they said store policy couldn't accept a vertical ID (For those who don't know of this, our IDs are vertical here if we get them under 21).
