Can you buy alcohol with a gift card at Target? Many stores unless they're liquor stores many retail outlet chains don't permit alcohol or cigarettes on gift cards. Call Target beforehand to check their policies but I'll bet you can't buy liquor. You can always sell your gift card for cash. Click to see full answer.

Walmart customers can buy alcohol (beer, wine, spirits) from any store using a Walmart gift card in 2021. Walmart does sell restricted gift cards that do prevent the receiver from buying alcohol. If you have one of these restricted gift cards, it will clearly state, “This card may not be used to buy alcohol” on the front.
