It's basically impossible to buy alcohol to take out on a Sunday. McRuss is your best bet for buying essentials until the supermarkets open on Monday morning, but if you need a drink on Sunday your choice is either go to a bar (they can't sell you take outs I'm afraid) or find a poster on here who would buy some beers for you and arrange to meet up when you land

We purchase 4 bottles of wine at DutyFree which hold us for a few days, but we never arrive on a Sunday. Checked out Anchors @ CI yacht Club just to be able to offer informed advice and they do carry a nice selection for those who want to purchase liquor on Sundays.

All liquor stores and all of the major grocery stores are closed on Sunday. The mini-marts at the gas stations will be open and sell pretty much the same stuff as one at home. You can not buy alcohol on a Sunday unless you are at a restaurant or lounge. 2.

When you travel on May 13, it might be easier to buy liquor at the duty free shop at the airport before leaving the US. If that isn't an option for you, and if the new rules have not gone into effect on GC by then, keep in mind that the Anchors Store at the Cayman Island Yacht Club is open on Sunday and they sell liquor. I think that they are usually open from 7 am to 7 pm on Sundays.

Re: Bringing alcohol into Grand Cayman. A 2 hour layover is sufficient time for buying in Duty Free. We have actually chosen longer layover thru CLT than we have to permitting time to buy wine and have it delivered to the departure gate. One hour is the minimum they allow from purchase to departure.

Tucked in at the Cayman Islands Yacht Club is a little convenience store called ANCHORS. This is the only package store that sells carry out alcohol on Sundays. So, if you find yourself high and dry on a Sunday during your stay -- head to Anchrs for a six-pack of local beer or bottle of wine.
