Statewide, stores are closed on Good Friday while some regions are allowed to trade on Easter Sunday (mostly outside of Brisbane and the Gold Coast). Some places are also closed on Monday so check before you head in. For your drinking pleasure, alcohol can be served in venues which also have food.

Re: Restricted alcohol license laws over Easter? I don't think Belfast is "really quiet" any Friday night. People might go home a bit earlier or back to houses where they can continue to drink if they want, but certainly from around 7pm - 11pm you'll find plenty of people out and about.
