In England and Wales, most stores usually allow you to purchase alcohol whenever they are open… Shops with an off-licence cannot sell alcohol between 10pm and 6am in Wales. However in England the sale of alcohol in shops and supermarkets hasn't been affected by restrictions.

In England and Wales, thanks to the Licensing Act 2003 (the law which introduced 24 hour drinking) shops can sell alcohol 24 hours if they have been granted a licence allowing them to do so. In Scotland, alcohol is not sold in shops from 10pm at night until 10am the next morning (though some stores may have further restrictions).

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide agreed selling hours for stores in England, Wales and Northern Ireland as this is dependent on the licensing legislation in each local authority and on the varying opening times of the stores. The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 governs the hours in which we are able to sell alcohol in Scotland.

Now you can buy beer & wine at any time of night! If you can’t get to a 24hr shop, take a look at 24 hour alcohol delivery to find out if you can get booze delivered instead. Allow location services on your device or enter an address in England or Wales (unfortunately there are no 24 hour off licences in Scotland or Northern Ireland).
