Sunday trading regulations dictate that large supermarkets over 3000 square feet can only open for a maximum of six continuous hours, which must be between 10am-6pm. In Scotland, Sunday trading restrictions don’t apply, so large supermarkets can, and often do, open 24/7 but as mentioned above, 24 hour alcohol sales are not permitted in Scotland.

Now you can buy beer & wine at any time of night! If you can’t get to a 24hr shop, take a look at 24 hour alcohol delivery to find out if you can get booze delivered instead. Vínbúðin is the only place outside bars and restaurants where you can buy alcohol. Iceland’s only liquor shop is state-run, and is somewhat of a golden goose, so the government is not exactly eager to loosen alcohol regulations, allowing beer in grocery stores. Fortunately, they have a decent selection of beer and wine.

Louisiana has the loosest alcohol laws period. For criminy's sake, we have drive through daiquiri shops. You will find it anywhere. If you happen to be looking for a great selection or something unusual outside of the Quarter, I recommend Dorignac's in Metairie. I've heard of people buying wine here that live in Napa because it's cheaper.
