Basically, It is banned in the country because of the fact that Pakistan is a Muslim state and Muslims are religiously restricted to consume alcohol. Alcohal is prohibated for all muslims here in Pakistan, but if you are Non Muslim you can bring a useable amount of Alcohal and can purchase the alcohal in hotel by providing your forign id

You could buy alcohol in Pakistan, Murree Brewery brews very good stuff, pretty strong. Kalash wine another choice, once one's in the mountains of HIndu Kush Chitral. There's no news regulation. but you could bring something for your own usage at least one or 2 bottles but as mentioned in my previous post , avoid brining it in hand baggage.
