It’s illegal under Connecticut alcohol laws for anyone under 21 to buy alcohol. The fine for doing so is $200 to $500. If a person makes a false statement in trying to buy alcohol, it’s a simple violation. On the other hand, using a fake ID to do so is a misdemeanor. That’s a crime. The penalty for this crime is imprisonment for up to 30 days.
