In this case, the minor is not exempt even if eating a meal on the premises or in the company of a responsible adult. It is important to note that all staff of licensed premises (including bar staff, contracted security, bottle shop attendants and restaurant staff) are responsible under the Liquor Act 1992 for ensuring minors (except exempted minors) do not enter or remain on licensed premises.

Your options for non-alcoholic drinks can seem very limited. The problem is even worse at an unfamiliar bar where you don’t know what they offer. Thankfully, non-drinkers don’t need to miss out. There are plenty of delicious drinks out there. Many can be ordered at any bar, while others you might need to hunt around for.

Businesses that serve minors who go on to injure someone, cause property damage, or result in a death while they are intoxicated will most assuredly lose their liquor license. Even though the legal drinking age is 21, in some states, individuals do not have to be 21 years old to serve alcoholic beverages.

Persons 18 or older may own a liquor license. That is, their business may then sell alcoholic beverages. Thus, they may own a store or restaurant that sells alcohol, but not be able to even taste it. State of New Jersey alcohol laws permit those of any age under 21 to drink in private locations. And they don’t need to be with a relative to do so.
